Modas Repertory Workshop with Sidra Bell

Cost: $850 - Register and pay by Feb. 20th $750
Who: Dancers ages 15 and up of an advanced/pre-professional or professional level selected by invitation or audition. Dancers may audition via video. Contact Layla@modasdance or 505-501-7116 for audition information.
What: Modas Repertory Workshop is designed give participants the opportunity to be immersed in the creation of a new work by a prominent, nationally-recognized choreographer, while diversifying and honing their technique with world class master teachers. The work created will be presented in a performance at the beautiful Hiland Theatre on Saturday Aug. 1st.
Where: All classes will be held at NDI-Hiland Theatre with housing provided by University of New Mexico.
When: Arrive July 21st, classes/rehearsals July 22nd - Aug. 1st, performance the evening of Aug. 1st, depart Aug. 2nd

Sidra Bell Biography
currently a Master Lecturer at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and was
an Adjunct Professor at Barnard College in New York City. She has a degree in History from
Yale University and an MFA in Choreography from Purchase College Conservatory of Dance.
Ms. Bell has won several awards, notably a prestigious 1st Prize for Choreography at the Solo
Tanz Theater Festival in Stuttgart, Germany. Her critically acclaimed choreography and
company has been seen throughout the United States and in Denmark, France, Austria,
Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany, China, Canada, Aruba, Korea, Brazil and Greece. Sidra Bell Dance
New York (SBDNY, Inc.) was lauded in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette's 2010 Best in Dance for
ReVUE, and in the 2012 Year in Review in ArtsATL's notable performances for Nudity.
Bell has received many commissions from institutions internationally and created over 100 new
works, with companies of distinction such as BODYTRAFFIC (CA), Ballet Austin, Sacramento
